TURN YOUR DESTINATION INTO A STORY PEOPLE WANT TO EXPERIENCE.

Wandermore partners with tourism organizations, communities, attractions, and hospitality brands to create authentic travel storytelling that inspires people to get out and explore. Through social media, photography, video, destination guides, and firsthand experiences, we help showcase what makes your community worth the detour.

Hi! We’re Seth and Eliese Varner—the husband-and-wife team behind Wandermore. We’ve built Wandermore into a travel storytelling platform dedicated to helping people discover the hidden gems, local history, small businesses, attractions, and unique communities that make the Midwest and Great Plains worth exploring.

We’re best known for doing something a little unusual: traveling to every incorporated community in an entire state. Since 2020, our projects have taken us to every incorporated community in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Colorado—thousands of communities and countless miles traveled one backroad at a time.

Along the way, Wandermore has grown into a social media network reaching more than 270,000 followers, a series of statewide travel and history books, and an expanding travel blog featuring destination guides, local history, restaurants, roadside attractions, hidden gems, and firsthand recommendations from the places we actually visit.

We help destinations turn hidden gems into must-see experiences through trusted travel storytelling, targeted audience reach, and measurable results.

But what makes Wandermore different isn’t simply the size of our audience. We don’t just talk about travel—we live it. When we partner with a destination, we don’t parachute in for a few photographs and move on. We explore the community, talk with the people who call it home, learn its history, visit its businesses and attractions, and look for the experiences that will give our audience a genuine reason to make the trip themselves.

For us, travel has never been about checking destinations off a list. It’s about slowing down, taking the scenic route, and discovering the stories that make every community unique. What began with weekend road trips and a shared curiosity about the places around us eventually grew into thousands of hours spent exploring backroads, meeting local residents, uncovering forgotten history, and finding memorable places in communities both large and small.

Some of our favorite travel experiences haven’t happened at famous landmarks. They’ve happened in towns many travelers have never heard of—in historic downtowns, locally owned restaurants, quirky roadside stops, museums, parks, family-run businesses, and conversations with people who are deeply proud of the places they call home.

Those experiences shaped Wandermore into what it is today.

Our mission remains simple: encourage people to wander more, explore deeper, and appreciate the people, history, businesses, and attractions that make every community special. Through our books, articles, photography, videos, and social media storytelling, we help travelers look beyond the obvious destinations—and help tourism partners show them what they’ve been missing.

We have been featured in CBS Mornings, the Omaha World-Herald, the Des Moines Register, the Minnesota Star Tribune, KARE 11, KSTP-TV, KCCI-TV, and in dozens of other reputable media outlets and publications.

Unlike traditional advertising, Wandermore content is built for:

  • Real Engagement: Active conversations from a highly engaged audience of Midwest travelers.

  • Highly Shareable Content: Storytelling-driven posts that people actually want to share with friends.

  • Firsthand Storytelling: Every destination is personally visited, photographed, and documented by Seth and Eliese.

  • Economic Impact: Our storytelling intentionally highlights Main Street businesses, historic preservation, local restaurants, and other visitor-ready experiences—encouraging travelers to spend more time and money within the communities we feature.
